Henrik Zipsane is to join the prestigious membership of the International Hall of Fame in Adult & Continuing Education.
A long term committed member of PASCAL, he has contributed to many different aspects of the PASCAL Observatory and Learning City Network. This has included the coordination of a network on museums and heritage education and the development of a European Masters programme in museum education.
Henrik’s professional life has been characterised by a commitment and dedication to promoting adult and continuing education through museums and heritage organisations. Formerly Director of the Jamtli Foundation in Sweden, Henrik is currently Director of the European Museum Academy.
As Director of Archives and Museums, and as a researcher he has promoted the dual role of museums and heritage institutions as new arenas for the promotion of non-formal and informal learning over the lifespan. His involvement in research and practice has re-interpreted the potential of museum as centres of transformative learning for the wider community and for those from previously excluded groups.
Henrik has brought his idea on ‘implementing a learning perspective’ for visitors to museums’ to an international level though his ongoing commitment to activities in the International PASCAL Observatory and the European Museum Academy.
