The PASCAL International Members Association (PIMA) has released its Bulletin Number 57.
This special issue, edited by Timothy Ireland and Amy Rose, is dedicated to prison and correctional education. The publication gathers research- and practice-based insights on how educational initiatives—such as non-formal reading programs, documentary film discussions, vocational housing models, peer tutoring, and creative arts—empower incarcerated individuals (particularly women) by fostering critical thinking, self-reflection, and personal agency. Across its featured articles, the bulletin highlights the transformative role of compassionate educators and structured learning environments in mitigating the harmful effects of confinement, promoting well-being, and supporting successful rehabilitation and social reintegration.
